Finally Handel and a new production from Open Opera Ukraine. All will be water - because it's the story of Acis and Galatea.
Of course there will be love and tragedy, rivers of tears and baroque music, which will translate everything into the language of emotion. We have chosen an ancient plot and we will try to go through the metamorphoses ourselves, following in Ovid's footsteps.
"Acis and Galatea" will be the first professional production of G.F.Handel in Ukraine. What does this mean? That no one here has ever presented something like this.
.The director Tamara Trunova, as always, has chosen an unexpected reading, to demonstrate the capabilities of modern theater.
The German conductor Jörg Halubek contributed with his experience in historically informed performance to convey the music to you the way it sounded 300 years ago and to allow you to understand it without translation and explanation.
And the costumes were prepared by the designers of FINCH © - don't expect anything traditional!
Opera can be different - without walls, stereotypes and snobbery.
